Pick an instrument and learn to easily create music using a simple intuitive process I developed through my own creative journey.

This package includes 4 lessons and each lesson is 1 hour long.  We'll spend approximately 15 minutes doing intuitive ear training, followed by 30-45 minutes of hands on music making (by you!).  Optional humming session in the last 10-15 minutes.

My goal is to get you having fun and building confidence without having to learn any music theory.

Music is a language, and you don't have to know the grammar in order to express yourself.  All you need is some practice to develop muscle memory and you'll be jamming in no time.

A Note from Nicholas

Learning music should be fun, inspiring, and intuitive, and I can give you expert advice to help you make quick strides towards your playing goals. Since I began teaching instrument and songwriting lessons I've developed a simple path to get you started writing your own music within the first few lessons. Ultimately this is about seeing you blossom into your own sound and we can approach it from many different perspectives depending on your unique intentions.

Peace,

Nicholas Penn

P.S. - Instruments that require specialized technique for producing sound, such as reed instruments, brass, etc. may not be the best fit unless you've already developed your technique a bit.

    Feeling grace and peace

I found Nicholas through his Hummin Bein challenge which I immensely enjoyed. When I saw that he was preparing a Bootcamp I was all in! I opted in for 1:1 lessons before the Bootcamp. This is how this beautiful journey started.

Before I started lessons with Nicholas I hadn't picked up my instrument in years and was afraid that we wouldn't be able to do much because of that. But muscle memory is a joy and wonder, I tell you!

Nicholas gave me a lot of space and encouragement. I needed that and was honest up front about all the blocks and reasons why I had stopped playing. I had rarely played just for myself, only to practice and perform. We took a completely different angle than what I was used to in lessons. It wasn't about learning a lot fast and to perfection. We kept it pretty simple, which wasn't easy for me in the beginning, because I was so used to doing all the little flourishes and embellishments, to elaborate on a piece of music, to not get bored with playing something over and over again.

The lessons were tailored exactly to my needs. Those were: reconnecting and playing just for the joy of it and trying to relax while playing. I play the harp, mostly doing different thing with each hand at the same time, which keeps my brain in a buzz, instead of relaxing.

After our first lesson I was near tears, I was so grateful to have reconnected with my instrument again. And I had to sit down and played for another hour and was a bit high on the music. It was pure bliss.
